J. Woeste in Los Olivos

J. Woeste is one of my favorite destinations when my mom, sister, and I make our annual "girl's trip" to Central California, where we call Solvang our home base for a long, wonderful weekend.

~ raven scarecrow! ~

J. Woeste is nestled in the charming town of Los Olivos, a short drive Northeast of Solvang. It's where I buy many of the aged terracotta pots that you seen in my posts.

I always stock up on them when I visit, and excitedly fill them with beautiful flowers and petite lemon cypress for our home. They not only have an extensive collection, but I love that all their pots are made in Italy!

Although my sights were set on terracotta pots and lemon cypress, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite J. Woeste finds this year . . .

~ TALL, slender terracotta pots . . . LOVE ~

I LOVE this basket weave pot! Isn't it beautiful!?!

And look at these darling 'garden homes' made of metal. They stand approximately two-feet tall . . . and would add a classical touch of whimsy to any garden.

I fell in love with this hand-painted rooster. Isn't she amazing!?
Oh! And look at the beautiful pot that she's nestled in!

There were so many Fall and Christmas inspired hand-made garden ornaments like these Christmas trees. They're even prettier in person!

. . . and perhaps one of my favorite finds was this towel holder. I love the charm she adds to my kitchen!

As always, I felt so inspired after our visit and stroll through this beautiful and unique nursery!

You'll see the aged pots that I bought this year filled with Fall-colored pansies running down the center of our Thanksgiving table this year. Stay tuned!

LET'S STAY in touch!

  1. I don't think I could have left without one of those metal houses. Love. And the terra cotta pots en masse like that make my teeth hurt.

  3. I love your posts! I especially love the "hand-painted 'ROOSTER'" that you refer to as a "she", and I wish I could take her-him home. I am going to look them up online to see if they have a site. I loved all their things, but especially enjoy your blog! It is one of my absolute favorites! hugs from California! Nanny

  5. Suzanne,
I'll have to stop by this place next time we head up north. I love Los Olivos and have been through on a central valley wine tour.
The towel holder is my favorite.

Hi --- Was looking at the name wondering why it was so familiar and then realized it was THAT J. Woeste! We go there at least twice a year when staying at the Alisal Ranch outside of Solvang. However, we come down from the north. What a great place and don't think many people leave the place without buying something. It's a place that even appeals to men - my husband loves to walk around and look at everything. If I'm with my girlfriend we usually go up the main street to a wine tasting (across from what used to be the Tin Alley) and buy a "flight" of mini-cupcakes. Glad you love this place too and you've a great website of your own. MMR
