We celebrated our youngest daughter's 4th birthday a few weekends ago with some of
our closest friends and family.
Our little Lauren LOVES horses, so I was sure to add them to her special celebration, along with pretty flowers, pastel pinks and muted golds . . . all that was feminine and sweet.

white potted pansies
pink lilies
pink bandannas
diy glittered horses
diy tassel garland
petite hay bales
mint green & gold polka dot ribbons
mini straw hats
HORSE sugar cookies!

And for a little fun, I bought hula hoops and bubbles for the kids. There's nothing like watching little ones hula hoop while trying to blow bubbles. Cute stuff!
I planned on making Dutch Babies with a variety of savory and sweet toppings, but Lauren really wanted to waffles.
So we hosted a beautiful Waffle Breakfast, complete with an array of toppings, home-made and sweet.

Our little Lauren asked for a white cake with pink frosting!
So I baked an incredibly moist white cake, and then frosted it with fresh whipped cream that I lightly flavored with lemon curd. For additional flavor, I spread a thin layer of lemon curd on every layer, and then finished frosting the layers and cake with the whipped cream. YUM!
The cake topper was a diy gold glitter horse, a white eyelet banner, and a few pastel flowers that Lauren helped me put on the cake. Simple and sweet.
We enjoyed a wonderful morning filled with friends and family . . . and it was Lauren's excitement, enthusiasm, and happiness that made the day so special and fun!
Happy Birthday, sweet girl!
I love you, Mom

OMG! This is spectacular! She is a lucky girl to have such a great mom!
ReplyDeleteOh Suzanne, you throw the very best parties! This just might be my favorite one yet. Love the pink and gold combination and all the pretty details!
ReplyDeleteI am so loving this brunch party you're preaching. We always do early dinners for birthday parties, but I love this idea so much. We generally do it for Mother's Day and it's always amazing. I need to make it happen for other occasions. As always, everything looks perfectly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Didn't you just celebrate a 21st birthday!? A 21 year old and a four year old!? What's in between?
ReplyDeleteHi Mindy!
DeleteThree of our four children have birthdays in February . . . the 6th, 11th, and the 21st.
Our children's ages are 21, 7, 5, and 4.
Our 5-year-old son's birthday is in 2 weeks, so I've been in planning his party.
The beginning of the year is like a whirl-wind for us, lol!
I look forward to seeing a future "birthday brunch" post from you!!
I hope you're having a great week,
Suzanne
Everything you do is beautiful. Everything you share encourages me to try different things. I enjoyed the pictures in this post so very much. Your little Lauren is a very lucky little girl. She has an amazing mother who takes so much pride in making her day feel very special.

ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Suzanne! I love how frilly and sweet all the colors and decorations are. Perfect for a little girl! Thank you for your sweet comment this morning. I haven't felt the urge to write in a few weeks, but I'm hoping it might return soon. In the meantime, I continue to read your blog and be inspired with all your spring decor! We were in San Francisco for spring break last week and I thought of you. I'm not sure where you live in California, but it's such a pretty state with beautiful weather! :)
