You've seen many of Alexandra Jane's (aka Auntie Alex's) beautiful cakes at our parties over the years . . . like this one, and this one . . . Oh, this one too! And I can't forget this one!
Alex's cake adventure started here, and has since grown into a passion!
So when she told me that she wanted to turn her cake passion into a business, I was beyond excited for her!
After months of hard work and careful preparation, Alex announced the Grand Opening of Cameo Cake Company on March 3, 2013!
Alex's home, all dressed up for this special occasion, set a welcoming tone for guests to
sample Cameo Cake Company's cakes and cupcakes,
peruse through her cake and cupcake project photo books,
sign up for a raffle to win a sweet treat,
watch the launch of the Cameo Cake Company website, and
enjoy a champagne glass of Martinelli's . . . with wonderful people
Tables covered in white and beige linens, served as a simple backdrop for her stunning cakes and cupcakes.
We enjoyed . . .
French Vanilla Cupcakes
with Raspberry filling and White Chocolate
Swiss Meringue Buttercream
Lemon Cupcakes
with Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream Filling
and covered with Fondant
Chocolate Cupcakes
with Peanut Butter Swiss Meringue Buttercream
and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Guinness Cake
with Irish Cream filling, frosted in Dark Chocolate Ganache
and covered with Fondant
I was honored when Alex asked me to style her special event.
The event's color theme fell in line with the colors she chose for her business. She loves the color combination of mocha brown, black, and white.

Crisp white linen tablecloths draped to the floors, and then topped with beige linens for a light contrast . . . made for a simple backdrop to show off Alex's beautiful cakes and cupcakes.
As a gift, I made her a black scalloped garland for the main table. I thought it would be a perfect addition to the table, and an elegant way to tie the scallop border (and bow) on her logo into the main tablescape.
Bouquets of pale blue hydrangeas graced tabletops, and could be seen throughout her home and in the patio.

While sampling cupcakes and slices of cake,
guests oooh'd and ahhh'd while admiring photos of her many cake/cupcake/and cookie projects over the years. You can see her photo gallery here.
~ a sweet raffle ~
Perhaps one of my favorite surprises for Alex was this guest book . . .
I invited her friends and family to write notes of Congratulations and Best Wishes, so that she could always treasure the loving and supportive words of her friends and family throughout her new venture.
It was a magical afternoon filled with sweet treats, love & friendship.
Congratulations, my sweet friend!
I love you,
Suzanne
