It's Halloween 'at Home'

My recent trip to Colorado kick started the Fall season for me. After enjoying and admiring so much Fall inspiration and beauty . . . I jumped right into decorating for Halloween and Fall after arriving home (forget unpacking and laundry!).

Half of my home is filled with the warmth of Fall . . . pumpkins, bushels of wheat, bundles of Indian corn, twinkle lights, and barren vines winding up staircases; and the other half is decorated for Halloween. As I grow older and appreciate the glories of Fall even more, I find it harder to share my home with Halloween, BUT my little ones LOVE it . . . and so it will remain a big part of my October decorating for many more years (smile).

I thought it would be fun to share a FEW Halloween decor photos from my home . . .

~ Halloween isn't Halloween without candy corns ~
A few of my holiday favorites on display . . .

I knew the perfect place for it ~

every year, BUT this one makes a debut EVERY year.
It's one of my favorite pieces. ~

~ My favorite Colorado find . . . Velvet Pumpkins ~
Their tops are REAL pumpkin stems!

I typically add a few Fall touches to my main Guest Bath as well.

Well, that ends my Halloween tour . . .

Simply Suzannes Halloween

My Halloween decor changes every year, depending on my inspirations.

This year I felt inspired to follow a more mono-chromatic design ~ and I used the classic black & white for my foundation; and for splashes of color . . . I turned to orange, purple, and mercury silver.

My favorites this Halloween season . . .

black & white baroque
fairy-tale pumpkins
white & creme gourds
glitter! glitter! glitter!
bright-colored candies
  white porcelain
and always . . .  mercury glass pumpkins

Here are just a few Halloween ideas from my home to yours. . . .

Halloween decorating . . .

It's October 1st . . . which for me ~ means that it's time to begin decorating for Halloween!
I find inspiration for my decor in specialty stores and gift shops that showcase seasonal decor and design, at festivals, and in photographs from my favorite magazinesI have always had an affinity to Halloween decorations that possess a "vintage" or "nostalgic" look and feel. I appreciate the deep, rich colors and the eerie art designs typically seen on these vintage pieces or replicas.
Where do you find inspiration? As we enter this Halloween season ~ I hope that you find the inspiration you need to create a home . . . a gathering . . . an entry . . . a table . . . a setting . . . that is reflective of your creativity and passions.
. . . and most importantly . . . have fun while you're
decorating for Halloween this year!!
